The Holidaze

We've been busy over here at the Richardson household. We celebrated Baba Langston's 43rd birthday on December 25th, interviewed a St. Louis local as a "mother's helper" for the DOD, put up our Kwanzaa alter, let the DOD get creative with their new easel sets, did some house hunting and welcomed in a new life of a cousin as well as mourn the death of another.

All in all this year has been one of learning new things, becoming more in tune with how I am as a person and who the DOD are becoming as "individual thinking beings" and accepting that I've lived a sheltered life in California - cuz folks in other parts of the country are, well, different. And it's shocking. *chuckle*

As I sit and type on Amira's laptop (that she let me borrow) I have the littlest DOD standing up and falling backwards on my bed as she yells in baby shrill sounds. And the 3 year old DOD laying on my arm as Daddy sleeps across the foot of the bed. While the remaining DOD dance downstairs to the Backyardigans on Noggin network. I know that I'm truly blessed to have the life that I have. I'm married to the Love of My Life and have truly wonderful children who are god in their own right.

So as I'm still in my "holidaze" state of mind, I'm off downstairs to make some "Twice Rice Crispy" treats. You know we have to do things organic style around here so our version of rice crispy treats are made with "gluten free white and brown rice" cereal and non-crackish marshmallow minis. *chuckle*

And in the spirit of Kwanzaa, Habari gani? Kujichajulia! *smoochies* - Mama Aly

Glad to see you are doing well. I'm so sorry that I hadn't visited your blog in awhile; Facebook has had me all cracked out, LOL.
